(Photo by Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 8)–A two-alarm fire call Wednesday morning at a downtown Lincoln area recycler got help from the sprinkler system and firefighters from getting any worse. While dealing with gusty south winds, Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called around 7am Wednesda y to Recycle LNK at 440 “J” Street about a fire was coming from the back side of the building in a cardboard collection area. According to LFR, sprinklers activated and crews were able to gain control of the fire. A second alarm was called in for crews to help with the process of removing materials. It took about 25 minutes to fully gain control of the fire.  There were no reports of any injuries.  According to LFR, workers there were moving cardboard with the skid loaders and heard a pop, then found smoke from the cardboard pile. ...read more read less
