A drive-by shooting in the South Shore neighborhood left a 16-year-old boy dead Tuesday morning. Kenyae Franklin, 16, was in the 7800 block of South Coles Avenue when someone in a passing white vehicle with several people inside it opened fire, hitting him about 9:15 a.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. Franklin, of an unknown address, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:43 a.m., the medical examiner's office said. No arrests have been made.
