(KRON) -- A Bay Area congressman has joined the chorus of those calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked against President Donald Trump. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Fremont) took to X on Tuesday to decry Trump's social media post claiming a "whole civilization will die tonight" as unconstitutional. "We n eed to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump," Khanna posted. "Threatening war crimes is a blatant violation of our constitution and the Geneva Conventions." Trump endorses Steve Hilton for California governor "If the United States Congress has any life left in it, every member of Congress and senator must be calling for Trump's removal today based on the 25th Amendment," Khanna added in a video accompanying his post. "He's threatening the entire destruction of a civilization." "This is a morale crime. It is a war crime," Khanna added. "We need to be demanding that Congress convene today, and we need to be invoking the 25th Amendment." Rep. Kennedy, the 25th Amendment establishes a procedure for replacing or declaring a president unable to discharge their duties, either from mental or physical incapacitation.
