Woman sprayed workers with mace in Frankford theft, police say

Police in Philadelphia are seeking help from the public to track down a woman who, officials claim, sprayed workers at a business in the Frankford section of Philadelphia with mace late last month.
On Monday, officials shared surveillance footage of the woman, that was taken prior to the incident
, on social media.
According to officials, police are hoping to identify the woman seen in the footage after she, allegedly, entered a store along the 4600 block of Frankford Avenue at about 3:20 p.m. on March 31, 2026, and began hiding items from the shelves on her person.
When confronted about the hidden items, police claim the woman seen in the surveillance footage produced a canaster of mace and sprayed two workers with the chemical before fleeing the scene.
Police did not immediately say if the employees needed any medical attention following this incident.
