Texas DPS seeks tips after driver hits and kills Johnson County man walking home

Along County Road 920 in Johnson County, crime scene markings tell only part of the story. Authorities say they still don’t know who hit and killed Frank Bravo near his home Tuesday night.
“It was inhumane because my father was left to die, and that is not OK. We have to live with that every
single day, and we’re having to replay that in our minds,” said Crystal Bravo.
Bravo and her sister, Mary Campos, are now left to plan their father’s funeral while reflecting back on simple moments.

“All weekend long, we would camp, we would fish, we would just be outside looking at the stars,” she said.
It was time spent with a man who they said was known for helping others and for being authentic.
“That’s the one thing I know, that me and my sister never doubted about my dad, is that he loved us,” said Mary Campos.
Family said Tuesday, Bravo was on his way home from a Texaco station he visited every day along Crowley Clover Road. Employees said he’d often jump in to help around the store.
The walk home was routine. Bravo was just a block away when Texas DPS said at about 8:15 p.m., he was hit by an SUV or pickup.
They haven’t released any other information that could identify the driver.

“Somebody had to be speeding through here,” said Billy Barnett.
Barnett often saw Bravo and offered him rides. He regrets not getting the chance on Tuesday.
“It’s just sad that this happened. Somebody knows what happened around here,” he said.
“We all make mistakes. We just want closure. And responsibility, too,” said Campos.
