BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police detectives are investigating the death of an inmate who was found unresponsive Friday at the Monroe County Correctional Center. Antonio M. Davis, 48, was pronounced dead after lifesaving measures at the facility were unsuccessful, the state po lice said in a news release. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office requested the state police investigation to provide an independent review of the incident. Sheriff Ruben Marte initiated the request early Friday morning to ensure agency transparency following the discovery of Davis in his cell.
