Charges were pending for a man who burst into a 23-year-old woman's North Center apartment and bashed her in the head early Friday. The woman was inside her apartment in the 4200 block of North Lincoln Avenue about 12:05 a.m. when a 36-year-old man she didn't recognize entered through the front door , according to police. When the woman tried to fight him off, he hit her in the head, causing cuts, according to police. She declined to be taken to a hospital.
