Summit County Sheriff’s Office seeking man in connection with homicide investigation

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of a 31-year-old man detectives believe is connected to an open homicide investigation.
On March 26 the Summit County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body discovered off a rural road near Brown’s Canyon Ro
ad in Summit County.
A medicolegal investigation, including an autopsy, indicated the cause of death waslikely blunt force trauma. Detectives quickly identified the decedent and opened ahomicide investigation, which led them to the decedent’s wife, a resident of Midvale.
On April 1, Summit County Sheriff’s Office detectives took the woman, Reina Chavez Sandobal, into custody and booked her into the Summit County Jail on felony charges of desecration of a dead human body and obstruction of justice. They arrested her at her home in Midvale.
Summit County Sheriff’s Office detectives also identified Francisco Morales, a 31-year-old male, as a second suspect in this investigation. They believed Morales was staying in the Midvale area but do not know his current whereabouts. He was last known to be traveling in a maroon 2009 Honda Civic with Utah license plate “5ETHO.”
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said it considers Francisco Morales dangerous. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts can contact the Sheriff’s Office at (435) 615-3601.
