Junior League of Baton Rouge says annual Hollydays is transitioning to a singleday event

BATON ROUGE mdash; Hollydays, an event held annually in Baton Rouge for more than 40 years, is transitioning to a single-day event, the organizers of the group, the Junior League of Baton Rouge, said.Last year, the event lasted three days.nbsp; The annual fundraiser offering shopping for festive gif
ts, decor and more, as well as helping to fund local initiatives, will now be a one-night celebration. The choice to change how the event is run was made by the Junior League's Board of Directors to "evolve to meet the way people shop today.""In todayrsquo;s world, many shoppers are focused on online rather than in-person shopping. Additionally, production costs continued to rise, most notably the 30% increase in the location rental fees. Taken together, these realities made it clear that the traditional market format was no longer aligned with our long-term fundraising goals," the group said.nbsp; The new vision for Hollydays will see a single night of music, jewelry pulls, whiskey and wine tastings, Community Assistance Fund grant presentations, raffle drawings and a gallery walk.nbsp; The group will continue to offer the Hollydays Shopping Card to " allow us to continue shopping with purpose by supporting local Baton Rouge businesses."nbsp; The event will return to Baton Rouge in October.nbsp;Permalink| Comments
