The Snow League and Park City Mountain announced Tuesday morning that the resort will serve as the league’s newest host site for its second season. The competition is set for Jan. 22–24, 2027, following the conclusion of its inaugural season.  The Snow League founder Shaun White made th e announcement at Park City Mountain at the top of an 18-foot halfpipe built at the Scott’s Bowl specifically for the event. The three-day Season Two competition in Park City will bring together the world’s top athletes in halfpipe snowboarding and freeskiing, along with live music, fan experiences and a full weekend celebration of winter sports culture, organizers said.  Park City Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States and a Utah 2034 Winter Olympic venue, will debut an upgraded 22-foot halfpipe for the competition, setting a new standard for progression over the traditional 18-foot build. It’s the first time a halfpipe of that size will exist at Park City Mountain since the 2019 FIS World Championships, organizers said.  The Snow League said the venue reflects the organization’s commitment to expanding athlete opportunities, from youth development to elite professional competition, and ensuring the sport’s long-term growth globally by expanding the accessibility of “premier infrastructure.”  The league’s addition of a venue in Utah follows the Season One finale in LAAX, Switzerland, where the league crowned its first-ever World Champions: snowboarders Sena Tomita and Yuto Totsuka and freeskiers Eileen Gu and Luke Harrold.  Founded by White in 2024, The Snow League is the first professional sports league dedicated entirely to snowboarding and freeskiing and seeks to combine elite competition with a festival-style atmosphere to create a premium, multi-day experience for fans both on the mountain and throughout host communities.  The January event will happen when the Sundance Film Festival normally would. The Snow League said its arrival signals a new chapter, introducing a global sports and entertainment property at a time of continued evolution for the community. “Park City has always been one of the most important places in snowboarding and freeskiing, so bringing The Snow League here for Season Two feels incredibly special,” said White. “With the Winter Olympics returning to Utah in 2034 and Park City set to play a major role in the Games, there’s an incredible energy building in this community around winter sports. We’re excited to make The Snow League part of that momentum, bringing the best halfpipe athletes in the world here and building something that grows with the sports in the years leading up to the Olympics and many more to come.”  Ian Warda, chief operating officer of The Snow League, said the move was a deliberate strategic decision. “Park City gives us the opportunity to showcase the highest level of performance in our sports to one of the largest concentrations of current and future fans anywhere in the world, in a location that’s uniquely accessible,” Warda said. “With the momentum building toward the 2034 Winter Olympics, the timing couldn’t be better.”  Omer Atesmen, CEO of The Snow League, said establishing a presence in Park City now allows the league to shape the future of winter sports in one of the “most important markets in the world.” “We’re proud to build a true destination event that connects competition, culture and community while inspiring the next generation of skiers and snowboarders,” Atesmen said.  Deirdra Walsh, vice president and COO of Park City Mountain, said: “As Park City continues to evolve, investments in events like The Snow League help define what’s next for our destination. Bringing world-class athletes and an innovative competition format to Park City Mountain reinforces our place on the global stage and celebrates the spirit that makes this community so special.”  Additional details about performances, athletes, on-mountain experiences and town-wide programming will be announced in the coming months. Tickets for the Park City event will go on sale at a later date. The league will announce ticket information and event updates at thesnowleague.com.
