Someone inside a white car opened fire at a red car, but instead hit a woman walking nearby as the attack also caused a crash on the Near North Side Monday night. Around 9:30 p.m., someone inside a white sedan approached a red vehicle in the first block of East Chicago Avenue and began shooting, Chi cago police said. A 25-year-old woman was walking outside and was struck in the thigh by gunfire, police said. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was in fair condition.
