CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have made an arrest in a car crash that left an eight-year-old girl in north Charlotte dead. Detectives say Nyomi Summers was riding her bike on Monmouth Drive at Dalecrest Drive around 6:00PM Saturday night. That’s when she was hit head-on by a car. She was taken to the hospital where she died. Police say 23-year-old Khaliyal Burney was driving the vehicle that hit Summers.
