(KRON) -- "No Kings" protests erupted across the country on Saturday drawing millions to protest the Trump Administration's "abuses of power" on what was predicted to be the largest day of protest in history. Hundreds of thousands of people mobilized to participate in more than 65 events across the Bay Area on the historic day. In San Francisco, an estimated 60,000 people joined the march from the Embarcadero to the Civic Center, according to organizers of the event. "Participants’ main message was that America does not belong to greedy billionaires or strongmen who’d rule through fear. It belongs to us, the people." Protesters had several requests, according to a news release, including: ICE out of our neighborhoods and troops out of our cities.  Fair free elections without rigging or voter suppression.  Rule of law not whim, judicial independence, political accountability. Justice, civil rights healthcare for the trans community.  Affordable healthcare and policies based on science.  Affordable housing and childcare for all.  Halt the MAGA assault on freedom of speech in schools, media, and public life.  End blatant corruption, bribery and self-serving greed.  Halt the needless, reckless war on Iran.  No U.S. funds or political support for Israeli occupation of Gaza or West Bank expansion. In Oakland, more than 20,000 stepped out to oppose the Trump Administration's handling of ICE, voting rights and the war in Iran, among other things, according to a news release. “We the people are showing up in huge numbers with joyful defiance to show that we will confront MAGA authoritarianism in the streets and at the ballot box," said the event's lead organizer Nancy Latham. San Jose announced that more than 10,000 protesters turned out at St. James Park "against Trump Administration abuses." While San Rafael's event at City Plaza drew more than 1,500 people, event organizers said. The protest was one of more than 20 held across Marin County. "Fighting against is never enough," San Rafael's event co-chair Sonia Parecadan said. "We have to fight for something; a society that is fairer, more equal and more democratic, where wealth doesn't buy political power, and people always come before profit."
