Child, suspected shooter among 3 dead after shooting near Birdville Stadium

Three people, including a child, are dead after a shooting in the Birdville Stadium parking lot in Haltom City on Friday afternoon.
Haltom City Police Department responded to the 6100 block of East Belknap, in the stadium parking lot, after receiving a shooting call with reports of three people s
hot around 4:30 p.m.
NBC 5 crews on scene spotted a large police presence and at least two bodies on the ground upon their arrival at that location.

Haltom police later confirmed that three people had been shot. The person believed to be the shooter was found outside a vehicle, while the other two were found inside the car.
Police believe the man shot the two females and then shot himself. One of the women shot was a child, according to police.
A woman was transported to a local hospital but later pronounced dead. The other two injured were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the three victims apparently knew each other, but police are still working to find the specifics.
Police believe this is an isolated incident and have no reason to believe it was related to Birdville Independent School District (BISD).
BISD released the following statement upon the news of the shooting:
Birdville ISD is aware of a fatality shooting that occurred after school hours in the parking lot of the Birdville Stadium in Haltom City. Police have confirmed that the incident is isolated and not related to Birdville ISD. The district had no activities scheduled at the Stadium or at any nearby facility at the time of the incident. We are heartbroken this has occurred in our community and we are working closely with Haltom City Police as they investigate this incident. The area is secure.
