Grand Prairie asks voters to approve $327 million bond proposal in May

The city of Grand Prairie is asking voters to approve a $327 million bond package in May to fund street improvement projects, public safety resources and recreational facilities.
The bond proposal includes three propositions, A-C. Each proposition has a different budget and targets different area
s of need throughout Grand Prairie. Voters can approve or disapprove of any or all of the propositions.
Grand Prairie Proposition A: Nonresidential street improvement projects
Total: $209.5 million
Adding pedestrian/bike access
Rebuilding bridges crossing Joe Pool Lake
Roadway reconstruction, widening and concrete replacement
Removing asphalt and replacing it with concrete
Grand Prairie Proposition B: Public safety resources
Total: $78.5 million
Replacement of the current North Radio Tower at 2201 109th Street
Building a multipurpose, public safety resource center
Upgrading the citywide traffic control network
Enhance communication between traffic management staff and traffic signals, school zone flashers, cameras, sensors and electronic message signs.
Grand Prairie Proposition C: Park and recreational facilities
Total: $39 million
Building a community/multipurpose center that can host a variety of programs and events
Building a public pickleball complex with multiple courts
Building a public Botanical Garden with horticulture and arts programming
Providing public artwork in various park and recreational facilities throughout the city
Election Day is May 2nd with early voting running from April 20 to April 28.
