A massive broze sculpture that draws millions of visitors to Philadelphia each year is relocating. Officials shared that on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the city’s famed Rocky statue will be removed from the bottom of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s steps and moved inside the museum to be incl uded in the upcoming exhibition, “Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments.“ For safety reasons, officials said the base of the museum steps and the area around the statue will be closed to the public on March 25. Additionally, there will be temporary lane and sidewalk closures on Spring Garden Street between Kelly Drive and MLK Drive. Visitors can still view Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky statue, which he loaned to the city from his private collection, located at the top of the museum steps.
