East Bay faith leaders travel to Sacramento advocating funding for immigrants

Church leaders from the East Bay are pressing lawmakers for more protections for undocumented immigrants.
The nonprofit called Faith in Action East Bay, a group made of different religious congregations, is the group behind Tuesday’s push for legislation to help undocumented immigrants and, amo
ng other issues, to make housing more affordable locally.
About 150 members on Tuesday morning loaded up on two buses and departed Oakland for the drive to Sacramento to attend the 2026 Families Are Sacred Convention, where they plan to lobby legislators to pass several pieces of legislation to help people who are having difficulties making it in the Bay Area and the rest of the state.
