A person died and several others were taken to the hospital over the weekend after a driver allegedly lost control of his car and drove into oncoming traffic in San Jose. At about 5 p.m. Saturday, San Jose officers were sent to the area of South White Road and Lieb Court to investigate a three-ve hicle collision. Investigators believe a man driving a grey 2010 Lexus sedan with three adult male passengers lost control of his car and ended up crossing into oncoming traffic lanes, according to police. The Lexus then collided head-on with a black 2013 Dodge Ram pickup that was traveling south on South White Road with an adult male driver and a teen boy passenger. The Ram then hit a silver 2008 Toyota Camry sedan that was occupied by an adult male driver and was also traveling south on South White Road, according to police. One man, a passenger in the Lexus, was extracted from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Lexus and another passenger were transported to a local hospital, where the driver was stabilized after being treated for life-threatening injuries and the passenger was treated for injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening. The driver of the Dodge Ram and his teen passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital, according to police, while the driver of the Camry was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Police said the driver of the Lexus displayed symptoms of intoxication and was taken into custody. His name wasn’t released. ...read more read less
