Mon evening forecast – Mar 23, 2026
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After setting the all-time record high temperature for March in Indianapolis on Sunday, we slumped big time temperature-wise Monday.
Just like how this month has gone though, we look to warm back up in sizable strides. We may even
be talking potential for record-breaking highs again on Thursday.
Monday night: Partly cloudy and cold with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.
Tuesday: Warmer under partly sunny skies and lighter winds. Expect highs to top out in the mid to upper 50s.
Wednesday: The warmup continues with big steps into midweek. Highs look to swing back into the upper 60s to low 70s. We will also turn a little breezy again.
7-Day Forecast: Rain chances get back into the picture Thursday with some scattered rain possible in the morning. By Thursday afternoon, highs look to try and get back into the low 80s, and the record high for the day is 80 from 1907. Then, we will watch for a stronger cold front sliding down from the northwest sometime Thursday afternoon into the nighttime hours. This looks to spark some additional showers and thunderstorms. A Level 2 of 5 risk for strong and severe storms is in place for Thursday across much of the state at this time. Hail and wind are the primary threats.
Friday will feature another hefty cooldown with highs falling back into the 40s. The last weekend of March showcases Indiana warming right back up in quick fashion.
