The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 4:39 p.m. on Sunday for freezing drizzle until 10 p.m. for Clinton and Essex counties."Temperatures are beginning to fall back to freezing this afternoon in the Champlain Valley with wet surfaces from earlier rain. Patchy black ice and freezing drizzle will lead to slick and hazardous travel conditions this evening into tonight. Exercise extra caution, and take it slow on the roads.
