A 47-year-old Maui anesthesiologist, on trial for the attempted murder of his wife, will admit to striking his nuclear engineer wife on her head with a rock on a 2025 hike on an Oahu trail, but denies trying to kill her, his lawyer told a jury during opening statements Thursday.
