Today officially marks the first day of spring and mother nature got the memo! Highs will soar into the low 70s today across the Piedmont with highs in the low 60s in the High Country. Sunshine will be plentiful early in the day before evening clouds build. A stray shower is possible this even ing, but I’m optimistic we will stay all dry! The warm weather continues through the weekend with a notable warming trend. Highs hit the low 80s by Saturday and approach the mid to upper 80s by Sunday! There will be another quick chance for a shower or storm on Saturday evening, but this looks far from a washout. By early next week we will need to watch for another dip in temperatures as a cold front approaches the area. This will once again increase rain chances Monday evening. Once again, this rain chance looks to be quick hitting with very limited moisture to work with. As nice as this is for outdoor plans, drought conditions continue to worsen across the region, so we could use every drop available. Temperatures then drop back to the 60s behind this front next Tuesday. The good news is this shot of cooler air doesn’t look to last long as another warming trend is apparent towards the end of the 7-day forecast. Enjoy the first day of spring and make sure to stick with the WCCB weather team for the latest! Friday: AM sun/PM clouds. High: 73°. Wind: SW 5-10. Friday Night: Mostly cloudy. Low: 52°.
