Lyman upsets 1seeded ViborgHurley to kick off Class B State Tournament

Its madness for a reason, upsets happen like we saw today from the first game of the Class B bracket in Aberdeen. Lyman, who comes in as the 8-seed took it right to the Cougars as the first quarter saw a back-and-forth affair. The Raiders had an answer for every bucket as the game went to half 22-20
the Cougars leading.
Head coach Cody Volmer made some strong half time adjustments as Lyman came out looking like a different team in the third quarter, jumping out in front to as many as 7 points.
Lyman never gave back the lead going on to win 49-44 shaking up the bracket to start off what would be an exciting day of basketball.
The Raiders were led by guard MJ Diehm who finished with 15 while Dawsen Volmer and Josiah Vaad combined for 20. Volmer also finished the game with 8 rebounds. The Cougars were led by Jake Austin who also had 15.
Lyman now advances to the winners bracket where they match up with Castlewood, coverage on KPLO will begin at 4:40 PM CT, tip-off at 5:00 PM.
Viborg-Hurley will take on Aberdeen Christian at 11:00 AM.
