Church members rebuild Yoder’s Market tin roof after it blew off in storm

NOTTAWAY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- After their roof blew off during a storm Monday evening, Yoder's Market in Crewe had a roof rebuilt the next morning by members of the Southside Mennonite Church.

The owner told 8News that he was in a meeting when the roof blew off, and heard the news of what happened around 9 p.m.
By the morning, over a dozen men from his the Southside Mennonite Church in Kenbridge were putting a new one in place.

It’s a space they’ve had the store in for two years, nothing like it had happened before.
Throughout the rest of the neighborhood in central Crewe, electricity crews worked on damaged power lines.
Down the road on Carolina Avenue, an uprooted tree fell on the resident’s truck. He wasn’t sure when his friend would be coming by to help remove it, stuck until then.
