A bomb threat midday on Saturday prompted a significant emergency response and evacuations on Main Street before the authorities determined there was not a danger. The Park City Police Department said Summit County dispatchers at 12:22 p.m. received the call. The police said the person claimed a bomb was planted within the Egyptian Theatre, which is located on the 300 block of Main Street. Law enforcement quickly closed a section of Main Street to traffic and ordered people out of businesses. Police canines that are trained to detect explosives swept the theater and areas close to the building. The police said the search found nothing suspicious. An all-clear announcement was made at 2:17 p.m. and the road was reopened. The authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Much of upper Main Street appeared to be closed during the emergency response. The Park City Fire District had a heavy presence alongside law enforcement agencies. The Utah Transit Authority responded with a canine unit. Numerous businesses on Main Street were impacted, as the authorities quickly ordered people out of buildings. Diners and staffers at several restaurants were among the people who watched the scene from a distance. Melissa Peretti, the general manager of the longtime Main Street restaurant, said the place was crowded at the time. “Full. I had a wait going,” she said. Representatives of the Police Department and the Fire District went inside to order the evacuation. “Everyone had to leave immediately,” she said.  Peretti turned off the restaurant’s background music and announced the evacuation, describing it took approximately five minutes for everyone to leave the building.
