6pm Saturday weather TONIGHT Clouds thicken through the evening and overnight, but most of the time stays dry with lows in the lower 40s. East wind around 10 mph, with a few gusts around 20 mph. The main impact is just a milder night than usual for mid-March, with no major travel trouble expected.  TOMORROW The atmosphere flips into full spring mode with a partly sunny sky, a fast warmup, and highs in the lower 70s. South wind around 25 mph, with gusts pushing 50 mph. Even before any storms arrive, it will be a windy day with loose objects getting tossed around and outdoor plans feeling more difficult than the temperature alone would suggest.  TOMORROW NIGHT This is the highest impact period of the next week. Showers and thunderstorms move in during the evening and overnight, then colder air crashes in late. Lows fall to around 30 by daybreak. South wind around 20 mph, with gusts around 40 mph. Damaging wind is the main concern, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Heavy rain may also create brief ponding before a late change to rain and snow showers toward morning.  MONDAY Winter comes roaring back. Snow showers are likely early, then skies stay cloudy and sharply colder with highs only around 30. West wind around 20 mph, with gusts around 35 mph. Any snow accumulation looks light, but the bigger story is the abrupt temperature crash and bitter wind making it feel much worse than the thermometer says.  MONDAY NIGHT A few lingering snow showers may hang on early, then the night turns mostly cloudy and very cold with lows in the middle teens. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts around 30 mph. Refreezing becomes a concern where pavement stays wet, and the air will have a deep winter bite again.  TUESDAY Cold air stays fully in control with a mix of clouds and limited sun and highs only around 30. West northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts around 20 mph. Wind chills around daybreak may flirt with zero, so the hazard shifts from storms to straight cold stress for anyone outside for long.  TUESDAY NIGHT Clouds increase again and a light snow chance develops late, especially after midnight. Lows drop into the lower 20s. Wind becomes south around 5 mph after starting west around 5 mph. Impacts look minor for now, but a few slick spots could develop if light snow reaches the ground toward morning.  WEDNESDAY A few snow showers or flurries may linger into part of the day, then temperatures begin to recover with highs near 50 under mostly cloudy skies. South southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts around 25 mph. Travel impacts should stay limited, but it is another day with enough cold air around to keep the weather feeling unsettled.  WEDNESDAY NIGHT Skies turn partly cloudy and the pattern finally calms down. Lows settle in the middle 30s. South wind around 5 mph. Hazards fade considerably, and this looks like a quieter reset after a stretch that features spring warmth, severe weather risk, and then a hard blast of cold.  7 DAY FORECAST The overall pattern is dramatic and fast moving. A calm Saturday night gives way to a windy and unusually warm Sunday, followed by the most dangerous period Sunday night when storms could produce damaging wind and perhaps an isolated tornado. By Monday the same system has pulled in much colder air, changing the focus to snow showers, strong west wind, and a sharp drop in temperatures. Tuesday is the coldest day of the stretch with harsh morning wind chills, then a modest rebound arrives by Wednesday and Thursday as the cold slowly loosens its grip.  ...read more read less
