While investigating a shooting, Philadelphia officers heard gunfire nearby and found a 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on March 14, 2026, at around 5:39 a.m., officers were on the 5600 block of Whitby Avenue investigating a report of a shooting when they heard gunshots coming from the 5400 block of Whitby Avenue. Officers soon found a 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was then transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, according to police.
