Dancers from the Trinity Irish Dance Academy were busy entertaining students and staffers at elementary schools in the East Village and Portage Park neighborhoods Friday morning to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday. The troupe danced away at LaSalle II Magnet School, 1148 N. Honore S t. in the East Village neighborhood, and Prussing Elementary School, 4650 N. Menard Ave. in Portage Park. For over 40 years, the Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison institution has become the most widely recognized Irish dance program in the world, according to its website. The program's mission, according to the site, is elevating children, the community and the world through the power and grace of Irish dance.
