3-13-26- NASCAR INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Justin Allgaier is preparing for a “double duty” weekend in Las Vegas after earning his first victory of the 2025 season at Phoenix Raceway. Allgaier, who drives the No. 7 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, will compete in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series — sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts — and the NASCAR Cup Series during the upcoming race weekend. A veteran of 15 full-time seasons in the Xfinity Series, Allgaier holds the series record for most top-10 finishes with 302. The races will air on The CW, the exclusive broadcast home for all 33 Xfinity Series events. Coverage is produced by NASCAR Productions in collaboration with the network. The broadcast team includes lead announcer Adam Alexander, analysts Jamie McMurray and Parker Kligerman, and pit reporters Dillon Welch and Kim Coon. Carla Gebhart hosts the “NASCAR Countdown Live” studio show before each race. Allgaier captured his first win of the season earlier this year at Phoenix Raceway, saying the victory gave his team momentum heading into the spring schedule. “It felt great. You never expect to win, but you hope you can get to victory lane,” Allgaier said. “To be able to do this early in the season, that’s a big weight off the shoulders. We still have a lot of work to do, but really proud of our team.” In addition to his regular Xfinity Series duties, Allgaier will also compete in the Cup Series race while filling in for Hendrick Motorsports. He will drive the No. 40 Chevrolet for the team. “This weekend, double duty for me being on the Cup Series side and on the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series side,” Allgaier said. “It’s not ideal circumstances when you’re filling in for a driver that’s out … but really cool to be able to run the 40 car this weekend for Hendrick Motorsports as well.” Temperatures at the Las Vegas track are expected to reach the mid-80s, which can lead to extreme heat inside the race car. “It’s probably going to be in the 120s, 130s inside the race car,” Allgaier said. The 2025 season also includes changes for Allgaier’s team, including the addition of a new crew chief, Andrew Roberts Street, along with several new crew members. The team is also adjusting to rule changes implemented in the Xfinity Series this season. Outside of racing, Allgaier recently filmed a guest appearance on the CW drama Wild Cards as part of a cross-promotion with the network. The Xfinity Series race in Las Vegas is scheduled to air Saturday at 5 p.m. Eastern on The CW. Allgaier’s appearance on “Wild Cards” is set to air March 30. ...read more read less
