(Photo courtesy of KRON4+) Swerve on the Junkyard Dog comparisons Swerve Strickland also mentioned something off camera about the comparisons people have been making between his current look and Junkyard Dog. Tor told Swerve, “You know, I grew up a huge fan of Junkyard Dog. I actually have the original 1984 LJN action figure sitting on my desk. When I saw you come out with the chain, it made me think of what JYD might look like in 2026.” Swerve told Tor that honestly, that wasn’t the original intention. He said the look was more of a spin inspired by Hangman Adam Page. But over time, fans started pointing out the similarities and telling him he reminded them of JYD. So while it wasn’t an immediate inspiration, it’s become more of an organic homage that he’s embraced.
