Wrestling fans might know him as "Swerve the Realest," and arenas worldwide have chanted “Swerve’s House” in unison when he asks, “Whose house?” ‘If you’re not RVD, you can only imagine’: WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam joins The Finish with Kor Tor Swerve stopped by "The Finish with Kor Tor" as the show’s first in-studio guest — just before Revolution 2026 this Saturday — to talk about a number of topics: what it means for him to be AEW’s first Black world champion, how he mentally prepares for taking crazy bumps in the ring, what young stars he sees as the new four pillars of AEW, and which match in his four years in AEW stands out as his most All Elite moment. (Photo courtesy of KRON4+) Swerve on the Junkyard Dog comparisons Swerve Strickland also mentioned something off camera about the comparisons people have been making between his current look and Junkyard Dog. Tor told Swerve, “You know, I grew up a huge fan of Junkyard Dog. I actually have the original 1984 LJN action figure sitting on my desk. When I saw you come out with the chain, it made me think of what JYD might look like in 2026.” Swerve told Tor that honestly, that wasn’t the original intention. He said the look was more of a spin inspired by Hangman Adam Page. But over time, fans started pointing out the similarities and telling him he reminded them of JYD. So while it wasn’t an immediate inspiration, it’s become more of an organic homage that he’s embraced.
