Mar 10, 2026
Park City para snowboarder Kate Delson won the Milano Cortina Games Lower Limb 2 silver medal Sunday.
Delson, 20 years old, is competing in her first Paralympics as the youngest member of the U.S. para snowboarding team.
France’s Cecile Hernandez won the gold medal Sunday and China’s Wan
g Xinyu the bronze medal.
“I’m so proud to be here representing my country and family and friends that are here and at home, that have supported me from the very beginning,” Delson said. “Their support has brought the confidence that I get to wear now, and I’m so excited to show them this medal and put it over their necks.”
Delson’s teammate and National Ability Center alumnus Noah Elliott won the Milano Cortina Games snowboard cross Lower Limb 1 silver medal also on Sunday.
Elliott fell to China’s Wu Zhongwei in the competition’s big final, who took home the gold medal. Canada’s Tyler Turner won the bronze medal.
With his silver medal, Elliott completes his Paralympic medal set, winning gold and bronze medals at the 2018 PyeongChang Games.
Elliott trains on and off in Park City, and believed he could return to the para snowboard mountaintop in Cortina d’Ampezzo after a strong past three seasons which have seen him win two FIS Crystal Globes and ESPN’s 2025 Athlete with a Disability ESPY.
“It’s been a lot of hard work these last four years,” Elliott said. “I couldn’t be more proud to cross that finish line and get my medal today.”
Delson and Elliott are the top-ranked para snowboarders in the world, and will be back in action Saturday in Cortina d’Ampezzo for the banked slalom competition, alongside Utahns Keith Gabel, Zach Miller and Joe Pleban.
The Paralympics wrap up on Sunday.
