CINCINNATI (WISH) — GE Aerospace in 2026 will invest $43 million in the company’s Indianapolis facility, $15 million in its Terre Haute facility and $7 million in its Lafayette facility, the maker of jet engines announced Monday.
It’s part of a larger $1 billion investment for 2026 in t
he company’s U.S. manufacturing base that was announced Monday. The goal is to accelerate engine deliveries, increase the production of maintenance parts, and strengthen defense production to meet military demand.
The Indianapolis facility, 1500 Polco St., manufactures combustors and structural engine components. These parts help create hot airflow and hold engine sections together for narrowbody and widebody commercial aircraft, as well as military fighter jets and helicopters. That facility will get new machines, tooling and facility upgrades.
The Terre Haute facility, 3390 Locust St., makes key engine parts, including combustors and structural components. That facility will receive new machining, tooling and inspection equipment, along with facility upgrades.
The Lafayette facility, 3700 U.S. 52 South, assembles and services commercial jet engines, work that brings together thousands of parts into an engine that’s ready to fly. That facility will receive new tools and facility upgrades.
GE Aerospace also said it plans to hire 5,000 U.S. workers in 2026 for both manufacturing and engineering roles. This follows the hiring of 5,000 employees in 2025. The GE Aerospace Foundation also plans to train 10,000 workers by 2030 through a $30 million skill-building program.
