The Philadelphia Police Department has released surveillance footage after a man was killed in a fight that happened along Upland Street in Southwest Philadelphia on Feb. 26, 2026. Officials shared footage on social media on Monday morning. According to police, the incident happened on Th ursday, Feb. 26, 2026, when a fight broke out shortly after a vehicle pulled to a stop along the 6700 block of Upland Street. As could be seen in the footage, the suspected shooter and the victim appeared to fight on the ground next to a vehicle before the shooting occurred. Officials said, at some point during this fight, a 40-year-old man was shot and killed. Then, shortly after the shooting, officials said, the suspected gunman — described as being in his late 30s to early 40s, having a medium to stocky build, standing about 5-foot, 11-inches to six foot tall and wearing a dark jacket with white fur around the collar, blue jeans and white-soled sneakers at the time the shooting occurred — fled the scene of the shooting along the 2100 block of South 68th Street.
