According to Acting Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police George L. Bivens, O’Connor responded to a call for an erratic driver in the Honey Brook area at around 8:16 p.m. When O’Connor located the car, he stopped the car at around 8:24 p.m. in the area of Route 10 and Michael Road.
When the car pulled over, O’Connor radioed the traffic stop in, and that was the last officials heard from him, Bivens said.
When O’Connor approached the driver’s side window, he was shot by the suspect, Bivens said.
The suspect, who has been identified as a 32-year-old man from Chester County, then got out of the car, walked a short distance and took his own life, police said.
When O’Connor did not respond, Troopers immediately rushed to the scene to find the tragic situation, Bivens said.

As of midnight on Monday, Route 10 between Hill Road and Lammey Road in West Caln Township was closed due to the police investigation, Chester County Emergency Services said.
