A man suspected of luring a 12-year-old into his vehicle in a Bay Terraces-area neighborhood this week, then molesting her was back behind bars Friday and facing a slate of criminal charges. Delaeno Moorman, 35, allegedly pulled up alongside the girl on Tuesday as she was walking home from school in the 2400 block of Dusk Drive and coerced her into getting into his vehicle, according to the San Diego Police Department. “The suspect then drove the child around the area for several hours and made inappropriate physical contact with her before eventually dropping her off near her home,” SDPD Lt. Nydia Castro alleged. Detectives identified Moorman as the suspected perpetrator in the case via various “investigative tools,” including an automated camera system that captures images of vehicle license plates, the lieutenant said. Moorman was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of false imprisonment, disorderly conduct, performing lewd acts on a minor under age 14 and violation of parole.
