DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Dozens of residents of a senior living community were evacuated Friday morning after a fire broke out in one of the community’s apartment buildings. The Danville Fire Department says the fire broke out at the Lakeview Place senior apartments at 1570 E. Main St. ar ound 10:40 a.m. Firefighters arrived and located a working fire, prompting an “aggressive interior attack” on the blaze. Multiple crews responded to assist, including some as far away as Pittsboro and Brownsburg. The fire was marked under control by 11:24 a.m. At least 50 people were evacuated from the building, the department says. Minor injuries were reported, but it was unclear how many people were hurt.
