X Games will bring its first-ever summer championship event to New Orleans this July, with the inaugural MoonPay X Games League season set to conclude at the Caesars Superdome.
Event organizers announced March 5 that the X Games New Orleans 2026 Championship will take place July 24–26, marking the final stop of the league’s inaugural summer season. The three-day event is expected to feature more than 100 of the world’s top skateboard, BMX and Moto X athletes competing in 18 competitions, along with a live music lineup and sponsor activations.
The championship represents the debut season finale of the MoonPay X Games League, a new team-based competition format designed to expand the action sports brand beyond its traditional standalone events.

“The X Games New Orleans 2026 Championship represents a defining moment for the future of action sports,” said Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games. “These inaugural finals bring together the world’s best athletes, clubs, and a city known globally for its energy, culture and celebration. There is no better place to crown the first-ever MoonPay XGL Summer 2026 Champion.”
The New Orleans championship will follow two earlier league stops: X Games Sacramento, scheduled for June 26–28, and X Games Japan, set for July 4–5.
The summer league will feature four teams — based in Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo and Tokyo — competing across the season for cumulative points. A draft scheduled for March 12 in Los Angeles will determine the 40 athletes who will represent the teams throughout the season. The club with the highest point total after the New Orleans finale will claim the league title and grand prize.
Local officials say hosting the event is expected to deliver international exposure and economic activity for the region.
“Launching the X Games Championship is significant for Louisiana – bringing international visibility, economic impact, and opportunities for our regional businesses and community,” said Jay Cicero, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. “X Games and the accompanying concerts strengthens our position as a destination for major sporting events and global entertainment.”
Tourism leaders also view the event as a way to highlight the city’s culture and hospitality to a global audience.
“New Orleans is thrilled to be the host city for the inaugural MoonPay X Games League Summer Season,” said Walt Leger III, president and CEO of New Orleans Company. “There is no better city in the world to celebrate the intersection of competition, athleticism, art, and culture than New Orleans.”
Founded in 1995, the X Games brand has grown into one of the world’s most recognized action sports competitions, featuring athletes across skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding and freestyle motocross.
The new league format aims to transform the event into a season-based, team competition with expanded opportunities for athlete earnings and fan engagement.
General admission and premium tickets for the New Orleans championship will be available at a later date. Organizers said event schedules and additional entertainment details will be announced in the coming months.
The competitions will be broadcast in the United States on ESPN networks, including ESPN, ABC and ESPN2, and streamed on the ESPN App and multiple digital platforms.
