Accordi ng to prosecutors, the “Outsouf” street gang, operated out of South Trenton from Feb. 2023 to June 2025 and committed several violent incidents, including murder, after one of their leader’s, Jhosse Tolentino, was killed on April 9, 2023. The gang referred to committing violent acts as “drills” and were done to avenge Tolentino’s death as well as assert dominance over rival gangs in South Trenton, prosecutors said. Prosecutors detailed an incident where OutSouf took credit for shooting members of a rival gang member on April 9, 2024, in a rap video. In addition to Trenton, OutSouf members committed crimes in Ewing and Hamilton townships, prosecutors said. Thirteen of the 15 people charged remain in custody and all of them face racketeering and related charges, prosecutors said. ...read more read less
