3-3-26-theCity Moms INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Families preparing for spring break are embracing “smarter” packing strategies to reduce travel stress and streamline logistics, according to Chief Mom Officer Jeanine Bobenmoyer of theCityMoms. The shift reflects a broader effort by parents to avo id the chaos often associated with traveling with children. “I think families are craving calm. We’re not trying to pack more — we’re trying to pack smarter,” Bobenmoyer said. “The big trend this year is simplifying — fewer bags, better organization and packing items that actually make travel smoother instead of more chaotic.” A key trend is multi-functional carry-on luggage, including the all-in-one suitcase from Nobl Travel. Bobenmoyer said luggage can set the tone for a trip, and families are gravitating toward carry-ons with built-in compartments to separate technology, toiletries and clothing. The Nobl suitcase includes a front compartment designed for quick access to iPads and laptops during security screenings. Additional features include a built-in cup holder, a phone holder on the handle for hands-free viewing and a charging port that connects to a portable battery pack. Bobenmoyer said more families are opting for one carry-on per person to avoid baggage claim wait times. To ease the physical toll of travel, Bobenmoyer recommends assembling a “travel comfort kit” with small essentials stored in a car or carry-on. “These are the little things that make a big difference,” she said. Suggested items include body wipes from YUNI Beauty, noise-reducing earplugs from Loop Earplugs and Bluetooth sleep masks that play white noise or music. The kit can also include jet lag under-eye patches from Summer Fridays and portable sound machines such as those made by Babelio, which she said are especially helpful in cars or hotel rooms for children who rely on white noise. Bobenmoyer recommends including a hard-case first aid kit for health and safety. For families traveling by car, preparation is key to maintaining a calm environment, she said. A backseat organizer such as the Helteko Car Seat Organizer gives each child space for tablets, snacks and headphones while protecting vehicle seats. Bobenmoyer suggested giving children ownership of their organizer so they can access essentials independently during the drive. Another travel tip involves the rolling tote from Hulken. The wheeled bag can hold multiple smaller carry-ons, allowing one person to transport a family’s luggage through the airport. Once at the gate, it can be folded and stored in an overhead bin. Bobenmoyer said overplanning and packing specific supplies often proves more efficient than searching for items at a destination. Product links and additional travel tips from the segment will be available on thecitymoms.org. Bobenmoyer is scheduled to travel to Siesta Key for her own spring break trip following her appearance. ...read more read less
