Law enforcement officials in Bensalem say Christine Toal, 56, was killed in an early morning house fire in Bensalem on Tuesday. According to police, first responders were called to a home along the 2700 block of Bellview Drive in Bensalem, at about 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, for a report of a house fi re. Upon arrival to the home, officials said, heavy smoke could be seen pouring from the structure and a man outside the property alerted first responders that a woman was trapped inside the building. Firefighters entered through the front door and, according to police, they found Toal unconscious in the kitchen area of the property. She was immediately removed from the property and, officials said, EMS workers attempted life saving efforts, but they were unsuccessful. The man who was found at the scene was hospitalized for evaluation and treatment, officials said. Also, police said, crews extinguished the fire before it spread to neighboring homes.
