Campbell apartment complex fire displaces 60 residents, destroys 3 cars

CAMPBELL, Calif. (KRON) -- A fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Campbell Monday afternoon displaced approximately 60 residents, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the complex on the 400 block of Kuehnis Drive at 12:58 p.m. and located a vehicl
e fire in a carport that is adjacent to the apartment building. Three vehicles and the carport were destroyed before the flames were knocked down by 1:46 p.m., fire officials said.
Ten apartment units sustained significant heat damage to their exterior windows in the fire, with some impacted by smoke damage inside.

Power was shut off to the complex due to electrical lines running over the incident area.
The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced residents, according to SCCFD. No one was injured in the fire.

The Campbell Police Department assisted at the scene with evacuations amid the fire activity.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
