Oakland native and Olympic gold medal figure skater Alysa Liu continues to receive recognition for her accomplishments at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games. This time, the shoutouts came from a hilarious “Saturday Night Live” skit. The Bay Area’s own Liu was watching SNL this weekend when she mentioned by “Heated Rivalry” actor Connor Storrie, playing a jock in the sketch. “As that figure skating girl with the striped hair taught us, you can still be a baddie, even if you’re a little quirked up,” Storrie’s character said when he eventually invited the school nerd to have lunch with him. Alysa reposted a screenshot of the sketch on her Instagram story and simply responded with “Period.” Liu is in New York City on Monday, where she spoke with the “TODAY” team.
