Inland basketball and soccer teams headed to CIF State playoffs

The California Interscholastic Federation on Sunday afternoon released the pairings for this year’s state basketball and soccer playoffs.
State qualifiers this season include 28 Inland teams: 13 in boys basketball, nine in girls basketball, four in girls soccer and two in boys soccer.
This marks t
he first season there will be true state championship games in soccer, with the winners of Southern and Northern regionals squaring off.

The Ontario Christian girls basketball team looks to bounce back from Saturday’s loss to Sierra Canyon in the CIF Southern Section Open Division final. The Knights will host Etiwanda in an Open Division regional semifinal this Saturday. Etiwanda is the three-time defending Open Division state champion.
Rancho Christian earned the No. 2 seed in the Division I girls basketball regional bracket and hosts Bakersfield Christian in a first-round game Tuesday. No. 5-seeded Centennial hosts Valencia and No. 13-seeded Moreno Valley travels to Fairmont Prep in other Division I games Tuesday.
Murrieta Valley picked up the No, 1 seed in the Division III girls basketball regional bracket and opens at home Tuesday against Burbank Burroughs.
San Jacinto is the No. 11 seed in the Division IV girls basketball regional bracket and heads to Granada Hills Kennedy for a first-round game Tuesday. Hillcrest is seeded No. 13 in the Division IV bracket and travels to Reseda Cleveland on Tuesday.
Patriot received the No. 8 seed in the Division V girls basketball regional bracket and hosts Chadwick on Tuesday.
Centennial earned the No. 2 seed in the Division I boys basketball regional bracket and opens at home Tuesday night against Hesperia. No. 6-seeded Damien hosts Inglewood and No. 12-seeded Rancho Christian travels to Chula Vista Victory Christian Academy in other Division I games Tuesday.

Roosevelt picked up the No. 1 seed in the Division II boys basketball regional bracket and hosts Bakersfield on Tuesday night. Murrieta Mesa is seeded No. 7 and opens at home Tuesday against Reseda Cleveland.
Colony is seeded No. 5 in the Division III boys basketball regional bracket and hosts No. 12 Norte Vista in an all-Inland showdown Tuesday night.
Ramona is the No. 8 seed in the Division IV boys basketball regional bracket and will host Ramona of San Diego County in a first-round game Tuesday. No. 13 seed Moreno Valley heads to Visalia Central Valley Christian and No. 15 seed Rialto travels to Granada Hills Charter in other Division IV games.
Colton is seeded No. 8 in the Division V regional bracket and opens at home Tuesday against Tujunga Verdugo Hills. No. 12 seed Redlands Adventist Academy travels to Orosi and No. 13 seed Pacific heads to Rowland in other Division V openers.

Roosevelt is the No. 8 seed in the Division I girls soccer regional bracket and heads to Santa Margarita on Tuesday. That opener is a matchup between the Southern Section’s Open Division champion (Santa Margarita) and its Division 1 champion (Roosevelt).
Ayala received the No. 3 seed in the Division III girls soccer regional bracket and opens at home Tuesday against Crescenta Valley.
San Jacinto is seeded No. 3 in the Division IV girls soccer regional bracket and hosts Oceanside Mission Vista on Tuesday.
Webb is the No. 4 seed in the Division V girls soccer regional bracket and hosts LA Bravo on Tuesday.
Fontana earned the No, 3 seed in the Division II boys soccer bracket and opens at home Tuesday against Chula Vista Hilltop.
