WAYNE — The TCNJ basketball programs made it two for two in NJAC championship games. One day after the men lifted the conference title in a thriller, the women did the same with a dominant performance. Katie Fricker scored 17 points, Riley Ahrens added 16 and the Lions became the first NJAC team t o beat William Paterson after they pulled away for a 78-55 victory in the title game on Sunday afternoon. TCNJ (17-10) lost both regular-season meetings by double figures, but shot 24-of-34 over the final three quarters and put the game away with a 28-19 fourth quarter. Grace Kowalski and Brooke McFadden netted 14 points each and Amanda Baylock finished with 13 to give the Lions five players in double figures. Renee Wells led the Pioneers (25-2) with 14 points. TCNJ won the NJAC crown for the first time since 2008-09 and will make its first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance since an at-large berth in the 2017-18 season. ...read more read less
