Hemet man arrested, accused of attempted murder after an occupied vehicle is shot at

A Hemet man has been accused of attempted murder for allegedly shooting at and hitting an occupied vehicle.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrested Juan Carlos Zambrano, 21, of Hemet, on Thursday, Feb. 26 on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a firearm and willfully discharging
a firearm in a negligent manner, the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement Saturday.
Deputies responded to the 25000 block of Florida Avenue in the Hemet area regarding a report of a shooting about 7:30 p.m. the day before and located a vehicle struck by gunfire while the driver was inside, but were unable to locate the suspect.
No injuries were reported.
The investigation allegedly led them to Zambrano and the Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant in the 43000 block of Palm Avenue. Evidence was collected there and from Zambrano’s vehicle, officials said.
Zambrano was arrested and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center at that time.
The investigation was ongoing.
