A woman was shot in the head and stabbed several times by her roommate inside their apartment on Friday evening, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Léelo en español aquí This all unfolded around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 inside a second floor apartment on the 2600 block of South 9 th Street in South Philadelphia, police said. A dispute is what led a 30-year-old woman to kill her 26-year-old roommate, officials explained. Neighbors told NBC10 that surveillance video captured the suspect leaving the apartment, making a phone call and then being handcuffed by police moments later. “I was just sitting on my step. I was waiting for my friend to come here and stuff and I just heard a thump,” neighbor Nicholas DeMuro said. “Five seconds later the girl came outside. She had a rip on the side of her jacket. Her face looked beat up.” Police confirmed that the suspect was arrested at the scene Friday. “It’s unclear what led up to this. It does appear however that the assailant and the victim may have been sharing that apartment,” Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said. Detectives had blocked off the area to investigate and questioned family members who arrived at the scene. Neighbors explained that arguments were often heard coming from the apartment.
