A Colorado man was sentenced to 10 years in prison earlier this month after pleading guilty to putting a woman’s body in a plastic tote and leaving it near a dumpster at an Arvada apartment complex. Daniel Ryan Clark, 41, pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with a deceased human body, a felon y, in connection with the death of 29-year-old Chelsea Beadles on Sept. 15. Beadles’ body was found by a maintenance worker at The Perch on 52nd apartment complex at 7797 W. 52nd Ave. in a plastic tote bin covered by bedding, the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. Detectives found she had injuries and was partially clothes, but the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office was not able to determine how she died. Beadles’ cause and manner of death were classified as undetermined, with coroner’s officials finding that while she did not have significant trauma on her body, because of “the unclear circumstances surrounding the decedent’s death, a traumatic death cannot be definitively excluded.” Investigators used phone and social media records to determine Clark was with Beadles before her death but could not find evidence to support additional criminal charges, the DA’s office said. Clark was represented by the Colorado Office of the State Public Defender, which does not comment on criminal cases. Beadles’ family spoke at Clark’s sentencing hearing about the pain of not knowing what happened to their loved one, according to the DA’s office. “I’m so sorry we can’t provide the family with more information about what happened. It’s not fair,” Chief Deputy DA Brenna Zortman said. Sign up to get crime news sent straight to your inbox each day. ...read more read less
