NFL Combine Fan Experience underway in Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The 40th NFL scouting combine is at Lucas Oil Stadium through Sunday.
The real competition is inside the stadium as 319 football prospects try out for NFL teams.
But outside, NFL fans of all ages get to play along.
They’re throwing a snap, kicking a field goal, and even running a 40-yard dash. Giant helmets from all 32 teams were installed for photo opportunities.
Chicago Bears fan Warren Young said, “It’s an awesome experience. I’ve seen a lot of the 40s and everything online, but actually being here is a really cool experience.”
After trying multiple exercises, Young said he was humbled by what the players go through. “The stuff they are doing is really incredible the crazy times and all the measurements they are doing, it’s definitely extraordinary compared to an ordinary person. It is definitely awesome to see.”
Ally Charleswood said, “It’s just a great experience. It’s to build community with maybe Seahawks fans or other fans of other teams.”
Caliber Lynn is a Colts fan. He tagged along with his parents and tried doing bench presses. “I can lift the weight. It’s pretty fun. I like it. I like all the sessions and it’s fun hanging out with my family.”
The NFL Combine Fan Experience is free and open to the public through Sunday. People hoping to go must register by going to nfl.com/apps/one-pass and downloading the NFL OnePass app.
