NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Kilmar Abrego Garcia has arrived at a Tennessee federal courthouse where his attorneys are trying to prove criminal charges against him are vindictive and should be dismissed. The Salvadoran citizen was mistakenly deported last year in violation of a court order. Abrego Ga rcia was eventually returned to the U.S. only to face human smuggling charges. A federal judge determined some Trump administration officials made statements about Abrego Garcia that are cause for concern. At a Thursday hearing in Nashville, Abrego Garcia will try to prove the animus of those officials is what motivated the charges against him.
