(CNN)– American Girl is marking the 40th anniversary of its dolls this year. It’s celebrating with a look back, and a collection it hopes will bring the brand forward. Each of the original Six American Girl Dolls represents a period in U.S. history. Now, they’re coming back in contemp orary clothes for the brand’s Modern Era Collection.
